The Power House

The Alster Tower ( Play House)
The idea for this apparently came from a defense tower on the Alster River that flows through Hamburg, Germany.

The Arch
Modeled after Roman monuments, this water gate was to be the formal entry for launches, delivering guests from larger yachts anchored in deep water, friends from other islands and visitors from the mainland.

The Dove-Cote
This was the first structureon the island built by the Boldts, when they where living in the old frame house on the site of the Castle.  A stone towere topped with a pigeon house - part of the "hennery" where they collected fancy fowl.

Our first view of the Castle .

Some of the intricate stone work and tower structures, this is taken from a lookout balcony on the fourth floor.
